Bothell Friday Market

The Bothell Friday Market is a community market, supported by the Northshore Rotary and community volunteers.  The market will provide access to locally grown produce and other food products as well as offerings from local artisans.  The market will further enhance a sense of community and add vibrancy to the Main Street core. 

The Site Manager is the “go-to” person for vendors and consumers during Market hours and is the Bothell Friday Market representative on site. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, including customers, vendors, volunteers, and local officials. The Bothell Friday Market relies on the site manager to be its liaison with and between all parties served by the Market, as needed on Market days.

Site Manager Duties:

•  Ensure Market is operated in safe and efficient manner.

•  Arrive prior to Market vendors and remain throughout the Market day.

•  Place Market-related signage.

•  Supervise set-up and take-down.

•  Coordinate with and oversee volunteer coordinator.

•  Manage on-site traffic flow before and after Market to ensure safety and vendor compliance.

•  Ensure adherence to all state, county, city and Bothell Friday Market rules and regulations.

•  Collect all stall fees owed and complete all required daily financial documentation.

•  Handle all emergencies that arise.

•  Assist vendors, community representatives, and consumers by providing Market-related information, conflict resolution and general aid as appropriate.

•  Safety: keeping an eye out for potential safety hazards to customers or vendors.

•  Cleanliness: making sure the Market area is clean throughout the day and clean at the end of the day.

•  Set up and assist with entertainment and special events.

•  Oversee the Market’s information table.

•  Bring suggestions/complaints from vendors back to the Market Committee.

•  Collect Market data, including periodic shopper counts and vendor presence.

•  Submit regular reports to Market Committee.

•  Experience with EBT/SNAP program preferred.

Payment:

Independent Contractor Period: The contract will begin upon hire and last through September 18, 2020. The contract is based on an hourly rate of $20/hour, to be paid in monthly increments.  The position requires eight hours each Market day and meeting with the Market Committee as requested (anticipated to be prior to June 5).  Actual Market dates, and associated payments, may be adjusted as dictated by COVID-19 governmental edicts.
